Santi is one of London’s leading Botox clinics, so you can feel assured you will be treated by an expert with extensive Botox experience.

FAQ ABOUT BOTOX >
Botox is a protein derived product that is used as an anti-ageing and wrinkle treatment to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and dynamic wrinkles.
You may also hear Botox being referred to as BTXA, Dysport, Myobloc, Neurobloc, Xeomin, Botox Cosmetic, and Vistabel.
Botox treatment explained in three steps.
1. When you are injected with botox it relaxes your muscles temporarily by blocking the signals from your nerves to the injected muscle.
2. Once your nerve impulses have been blocked, Botox temporarily stops your muscle from contracting.
3. As a result, your muscles relax and your fine lines and wrinkles become less noticeable and your complexion, smoother, softer and more youthful in appearance.
Botox treatment has been used in medicine for over 50 years. However, it came to the fore in the 1980s when ophthalmologists noticed that wrinkles and fine lines disappeared when they treated patients with strabismus.
Since the early 1990s Botox has been used to successfully treat children with cerebral palsy for muscle contracture and other medical conditions. Botox has been around for a long time and has been used as an effective wrinkle treatment for over 15 years.
Today, Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments for reducing the appearance of dynamic fine lines and wrinkles. It is also one of the most researched medicines in the world.
Medically, Botox has been used to treat different muscular disorders for over 20 years and despite the fact that the dose is often higher for medical purposes, no long-term side effects have been found.
After your first treatment, you will see the full results within two weeks; however, you may see the effects within a few days – the results vary from person to person.
According to clinical trials, 90% of patients noticed improvements in their fine lines and wrinkles, making Botox a highly popular wrinkle treatment.
Botox isn’t just used as a wrinkle treatment. It’s a reputable medicine that is used to effectively treat people with a variety of neuromuscular disorders. Botox can be used to treat the following conditions:
Severe back and neck pain
Eyelid spasms and eye twitching (Blepharospasm)
Crossed eyes (Strabismus)
Chronic sweating under the arms
Muscle tightness in the fingers, wrists and elbows
People who have Botox treatment often want to feel their best and look younger. Santi can treat both men and women; however, men often require a slightly higher botox dose.
Prior to your Botox treatment at Santi Spa, you will receive a thorough consultation with your doctor who will be able to advise you accordingly.
Most people say Botox injections are fairly painless. The needle is extremely fine and there’s no need for anaesthetic.
You also don’t need to worry about being immobile for the rest of the day – many people who have Botox treatments are able to function perfectly and continue their day as normal. So, if you have to go back to work on the same day as your treatment, Botox won’t cause you a problem.
Negative side effects
Side effects of botox are rare; however, some people may experience a mild pain and/ or tenderness where the treatment was injected. Slight mild swelling may also occur; however, this usually goes within two days.
Other very rare side effects include slight bruising and temporary drooping of the eyebrows or eyelids – don’t worry, the drooping is not permanent and can be treated.
Positive side effects
In addition to this, there may also be some pleasant side effects, such as a reduction in tension style headaches if you’ve chosen to have Botox treatment in your forehead.
The effects of Botox usually wear off after about three to four months; so, every three months is the minimal amount of time you should wait until your next treatment.
With regular treatments, some patients have reported longer lasting results.
Providing you wait at least three months between treatments, you can continue to be treated regularly without any harm being caused.
Not at all. Once you stop having Botox, your lines will gradually return to how they looked prior to your last treatment. Botox does not make your lines more prominent if you stop treatments.
Contrary to popular belief, you will not lose expression in your face. However, you will notice, depending on which areas are treated, a reduction in the amount of movement you will be able to perform – you might not be able to frown or raise your eyebrows as strongly
Prior to your treatment, one of our specialist Botox doctors will discuss your specific requirements with you if you have any further questions or concerns related to your treatment.

Once you have had your Botox treatment there are certain exercises you can do to improve results. This is what you can and can’t do after a treatment of Botox:
Straight after your treatment, you should try to contract your muscles in the treated area for up to four hours. This exercise will help the Botox to reach all of the muscle.

Alcohol and intense exercise should be avoided for a period of 48 hours.
If you experience bruising, you might find that Arnica cream will help.

We understand that every client is different; and each needs an individual treatment plan. We see too often a one-size-fits-all approach to skin peels such as a glycolic only range or a single peel product where every skin type, every skin condition and multiple skin issues are all treated with the same solution.
We take a more nuanced approach and hence carry an extensive array of peels.
Our focus for 2018 is to ensure that all peel clients have a bespoke treatment plan that addresses all issues in each part of the face, neck, hands and back; that also allows you to adjust your treatment plan as you go through the course of treatments, at one time minimising downtime during a busy week or taking a more robust approach when you have more time.
This restorative face and body treatment will help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and acne as well as improving uneven pigmentation. It works by repairing the texture of your skin using a glycolic solution derived from sugar cane which will buff away your dead skin cells, resulting in a smoother, more even and less wrinkled complexion.
Recommended: Our physicians will advise you as to the intensity and number of treatments required for your needs.
EYE AND LIP PEEL
The skin around the eyes, is one of the first places to show signs of ageing. However, due to the delicate nature of the skin, and the proximity to the eye itself, this area can prove to be difficult to treat. The Eye and Lip peel, is a gel-based, skin remodeling system that is specifically designed to treat this area. The formulation is designed not to ‘melt’, allowing precise placement of the product. The combination of ingredients creates results similar to that of much stronger treatments without irritation or reddening.

This treatment is designed to combat signs of ageing that may be visible on the backs of the hands, including age spots and other types of hyper-pigmentation.
A combination of three active ingredients renowned for their ability to remodel the skin and reduce excessive pigmentation.

Depending upon the extent and the depth of the skin condition to be treated, some people may require more than one treatment to achieve maximum results. This approach (multiple lighter chemical peels, repeated every 1-2 weeks) is safer and sometimes more effective than performing a single deep chemical peel.
