DERMAL FILLERS

This treatment smooths wrinkles and revitalises the skin, enhancing your lips or facial contours. Restylane works quickly for instantaneous results and minimal downtime. A clear gel substance made of a biodegradable hyaluronic acid is injected directly beneath the surface of the skin, adding natural volume and lift. Your skin sees long lasting results, with lines and folds appearing less prominent.

Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar molecule, is natural looking in gel form and non-permanent, allowing you to adjust your cosmetic choices over time. Our fillers will plump and revitalise, but dissolve naturally meaning an artificial aesthetic is avoided. As natural fat deposits descend with age facial volume diminishes. This process begins in the mid-twenties and accelerates over time, leading to facial folds and lines and a general loss of elasticity. While facelift surgery can lift, dermal fillers can address this volume depletion more directly without surgery. A non-invasive procedure, soft tissue fillers carry minimal risk and yield instant results.

Recommended: Our physicians will advise you as to the number of required treatments for optimal results. Generally, results last from 6 to 12 months.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

There are different types of dermal fillers: Juvederm®, Restylane®, Radiesse®, Redensity, Sculptra® and Voluma® are well -known products with Restylane being the pioneer in dermal fillers invented by a biochemist in Sweden. The fillers will normally contain a substance called Hyaluronic Acid. It’s something that is naturally found in the body and skin tissue.  A pure synthetic form of hyaluronic is usually used in the popular dermal fillers. After awhile the hyaluronic acid degrades in H2O or commonly water. So it is a very safe substance to use both in fillers and skincare.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE USED FOR?

Dermal fillers are used to smooth out lines and wrinkles caused by ageing. It can also be used to lift sagging skin particularly around the cheek area or jowls; or correct hollowness around the temples and eyes. They are also popularly used for lip augmentation or lip enhancement giving lips volume and definition.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROCEDURE?

During the treatment, your face will be injected with a small amount of the hyaluronic acid gel. It’s not particularly painful but should there be discomfort we can apply a topical anesthetic called an EMLA cream. After treatment you can go home or back to work. There maybe some slight swelling which subsides after a few days.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS?
