Hot Stone Facial

Warm basalt stones, slow facial massage and restorative skincare come together in a deeply relaxing 60-minute facial.

Designed as much for how you feel as how your skin looks, the Hot Stone Facial focuses on the face, jaw, neck and shoulders — helping ease tension while leaving the complexion looking rested, soft and refreshed.

A facial with a difference

What is a Hot Stone Facial?

The Hot Stone Facial combines professional facial care with the slow, sustained warmth of polished basalt stones.

Warm stones are incorporated into selected massage movements across the face, jaw, neck and shoulders, alongside manual facial massage and skincare selected for your skin.

The intention is not aggressive resurfacing. This is a treatment for clients who want skin to look fresher while also experiencing a genuine sense of physical relaxation.

Particularly suited to:

  • Jaw and facial tension
  • Neck and shoulder tightness
  • Tired or dull-looking skin
  • Stress and mental fatigue
  • Clients wanting a restorative rather than aggressive facial
  • Pre-event relaxation and glow
  • Anyone who simply enjoys warmth and massage
The experience

Why use warm basalt stones?

Sustained warmth

Basalt retains heat particularly well, allowing warmth to be introduced gradually and consistently during the massage.

Muscular relaxation

Warmth and slow massage can help ease the feeling of tension through the jaw, neck and shoulders.

A slower rhythm

The treatment is deliberately unhurried. The stones encourage longer, flowing movements rather than the faster pace of a corrective facial.

Facial massage

Manual massage remains an important part of the treatment, allowing the therapist to adapt pressure and technique to the contours of the face.

Temporary de-puffing

Gentle massage may temporarily improve the appearance of facial puffiness and leave features looking a little more rested.

Visible freshness

Massage, warmth and skincare can leave the complexion looking brighter and more refreshed immediately after treatment.

The Santi approach

A facial that doesn't need to feel clinical

Sometimes the most useful treatment is simply one that allows the face, jaw and shoulders to stop holding tension for an hour.

The Hot Stone Facial sits deliberately at the restorative end of the Santi facial menu. It can still support skin hydration and visible freshness, but relaxation is an essential part of the treatment rather than an afterthought.

Jaw, neck & shoulders

More than a facial massage

Jaw tension

Many people unconsciously hold tension through the muscles around the jaw, particularly during periods of stress or concentrated work.

Slow massage can help those muscles feel less tight and can make the whole lower face feel more relaxed.

Neck & shoulders

The treatment extends beyond the face because neck and shoulder tension often accompanies facial tension.

Warmth and massage are incorporated to create a more complete sense of relaxation rather than stopping abruptly at the jawline.

Your 60 minutes

What happens during the Hot Stone Facial?

Step 1

Consultation & cleanse

We briefly assess your skin and discuss sensitivity, preferences and any areas of facial or neck tension before cleansing the skin.

Step 2

Skin preparation

Appropriate skincare and gentle preparation are used according to your skin's condition on the day.

Step 3

Warm stone massage

Polished basalt stones and manual massage are used across selected areas of the face, jaw, neck and shoulders.

Step 4

Finish & restore

The facial finishes with appropriate hydration and skin protection, leaving the complexion comfortable, soft and refreshed.

After your facial

What should you expect?

A rested appearance

Skin commonly looks fresher immediately after facial massage and hydration.

Softer skin

Appropriate products and massage leave the skin feeling smoother and more comfortable.

Less facial tension

The jaw, neck and shoulders may feel more relaxed following the slow massage and warmth.

Temporary glow

Increased surface circulation associated with massage can give the complexion a healthy, temporary luminosity.

No expected downtime

Most clients can simply continue with their day after treatment.

A genuine pause

For many clients, the strongest benefit is simply an uninterrupted hour of warmth, touch and relaxation.

Personalised to your skin

The massage is fixed. The skincare isn't.

A relaxing facial should still respect the condition of your skin. Products are adapted according to what we see on the day.

Dry / dehydrated

The focus may be on gentle cleansing, hydration and richer barrier-supportive finishing products.

Combination

Products can be balanced so that the skin feels refreshed without becoming unnecessarily heavy.

Sensitive

Heat, products and massage intensity can all be adjusted according to sensitivity and tolerance.

Optional enhancement

Add LED Light Therapy

If you would like to extend the skin-focused element of the treatment, LED light therapy can be discussed as an optional addition where appropriate.

LED and hot-stone massage serve very different purposes: one is a light-based skin treatment, while the other is primarily restorative and massage-led.

Why combine them?

  • Keep the relaxing character of the facial
  • Add a non-invasive light-based treatment
  • No aggressive resurfacing
  • Can suit clients wanting relaxation plus additional skin support
Suitability

When hot stones may not be appropriate

Please tell your therapist if you have:

  • Very heat-sensitive skin
  • Active inflammatory skin conditions
  • Sunburn or recently irritated skin
  • Open wounds or active infection
  • Reduced temperature sensation
  • Recent facial procedures
  • Any medical reason why heat or massage has been restricted

Recent aesthetics or resurfacing

If you have recently had injectable treatment, laser, a chemical peel, microneedling or another procedure, tell us before the appointment.

We may adapt the treatment or recommend allowing more time for your skin and tissues to settle first.

Questions

Hot Stone Facial FAQs

Are the stones very hot?

No. The stones are warmed to a comfortable treatment temperature and your therapist monitors both the heat and your comfort throughout. The treatment should feel pleasantly warm rather than excessively hot.

Are the stones used directly on the face?

Yes, where appropriate, polished warm stones can be incorporated into selected facial massage movements. Manual massage is also used throughout the treatment.

Does the facial include the neck and shoulders?

Yes. The treatment is designed to include the jaw, neck and shoulders because tension in these areas is often closely connected.

Is the Hot Stone Facial good for jaw tension?

The massage and warmth may help the jaw muscles feel more relaxed, particularly where tension is muscular. Persistent jaw pain, locking or significant symptoms should be medically or dentally assessed.

Is there any downtime?

No significant downtime is normally expected. You may have temporary facial warmth or a healthy post-massage flush immediately afterwards.

Can I have this facial before an event?

Yes, assuming your skin is suitable. Because the treatment is gentle and non-resurfacing, it can be a good option where the aim is relaxation and visible freshness rather than aggressive correction.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Potentially. Products, massage pressure and stone temperature can be adapted, although active inflammation or very heat-sensitive skin may make another facial more appropriate.

Can I add LED light therapy?

Where appropriate, LED can be discussed as an additional treatment. Your therapist can advise whether it makes sense for your skin and appointment.
