Advanced uses • TrapTox

TrapTox — trapezius Botox for shoulder slimming & tension relief

Colloquially called “TrapTox” (or “Barbie Botox”), this targets the upper trapezius to soften bulky shoulders, create a longer neck line, and reduce trapezius over-activity from posture or training.

What it does

  • Relaxes over-active upper traps
  • Slims/softens the shoulder contour
  • Helps ease posture-related tension

Who it suits

  • Visible trap bulk at shoulder–neck junction
  • Desk/stress tension or heavy lifting
  • Prefers subtle contour (not added volume)

Timing

  • Onset: 5–14 days
  • Peak: ~4–6 weeks
  • Longevity: ~3–4 months*

*Varies by dose, baseline bulk, and metabolism.

How it works

Distributed micro-doses of botulinum toxin partially relax the upper trapezius fibres. We use conservative, step-wise titration where appropriate to protect shoulder function.

  • Minimal downtime (possible tenderness/bruising)
  • Stay upright 4 hours; avoid heavy shoulders for 24 hours

Dose & safety

Dose is individualised to muscle bulk, asymmetry and goals. Risks include bruising, temporary weakness, asymmetry and rare adverse events. Full consultation and consent provided.

Athletes/lifters: tell us so we can plan appropriately.

Will it affect my workouts?

Expect reduced upper-trap over-activity. Pause heavy shoulder training for 24 hours post-treatment.
