Immediately afterwards

The first 24 hours

Most people can return to normal daily activities. Keep things simple and avoid unnecessary pressure on the treated areas.

0–4 HOURS

Right after your appointment

  • Avoid rubbing, pressing or massaging the treated areas.
  • If using make-up, allow the injection points to settle first and apply gently with clean hands or brushes.
  • Follow any specific positioning or activity advice given by your clinician.
0–24 HOURS

Later that day

  • Keep skincare gentle around injection points; avoid scrubs and strong acids.
  • Avoid direct pressure or facial massage on treated areas.
  • Your clinician may advise temporarily limiting strenuous exercise, significant heat exposure or alcohol, particularly where bruising or swelling is a concern.
Settling period

Days 2–14

The effect develops gradually rather than immediately. Small differences between sides during this period do not necessarily represent the final result.

24–72 HOURS

Early settling

Small injection-site bumps or redness should usually be settling. Bruising can remain visible for several days. Follow your clinician’s advice about other facial treatments.

DAYS 3–14

Changes become clearer

Subtle changes can begin within several days and are usually easier to assess at around two weeks. We generally avoid additional procedures on the same areas during the settling period unless your clinician advises otherwise.

What to expect

What’s normal — and what deserves a call

Common temporary effects

  • Tiny bumps, redness or pin-pricks for a few hours
  • Mild tenderness, ache or headache
  • Small bruises fading over several days
  • Minor temporary unevenness while treatment settles

A cool compress may help minor bruising or tenderness if suitable for you.

Included follow-up

Your complimentary two-week review

At around two weeks the treatment has had time to settle sufficiently for a meaningful assessment. Your review is an opportunity to check the result, discuss asymmetry or concerns and answer questions about future treatment planning.

At the review we can assess:

  • How treated areas have settled
  • Symmetry and movement
  • Whether treatment goals have been met
  • Any concerns or unexpected effects
  • Future timing, where appropriate
Longer-term care

Maintaining skin quality and planning ahead

Skin health basics

Daily SPF 30–50, gentle cleansing and a well-matched moisturiser support overall skin quality.

Review rather than rush

Allow treatment to settle before judging the final effect. Future treatment timing is individual rather than fixed.

Combine thoughtfully

Texture and tone may benefit from skin peels or skin boosters, appropriately spaced by your clinician.

Questions

Aftercare FAQs

Can I sleep normally tonight?

Once the immediate post-treatment period has passed, normal sleep is generally fine. Avoid deliberately rubbing or applying sustained pressure to treated areas and follow any specific clinician advice.

When can I exercise?

Advice varies according to individual circumstances. Your clinician may suggest avoiding strenuous exercise for the remainder of the day or around 24 hours. Gentle normal activity is usually fine.

When can I have a facial or massage?

Avoid facial massage and procedures placing significant pressure on treated areas during the early settling period. Ask us about appropriate spacing for peels, microneedling or energy-based treatments.

Is flying okay after treatment?

Flying is generally possible after treatment. If travelling immediately afterwards, discuss your plans with your clinician.

When will I see the result?

Subtle changes can begin within several days. The result is usually much easier to assess at around two weeks.

What if one side looks different?

Minor differences can appear while treatment develops. Unless there is a concerning symptom, allow it to settle and discuss the result at your complimentary two-week review.
