Post-treatment care for facial line treatments (anti-wrinkle injections)
A calm, practical guide to what’s normal after treatment for facial lines and how to look after your skin in the first two weeks. This page is educational and does not advertise prescription-only medicines.
Aftercare — simple timeline
Right after your appointment
- Stay upright for ~4 hours.
- Avoid rubbing/pressing the treated areas (no facials or massage).
- Make-up: if needed, wait a few hours and apply gently with clean hands/brush.
Same day
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas/steam rooms and very hot showers.
- Skip alcohol this evening to minimise bruising risk.
- Normal skincare is fine; avoid scrubs/strong acids around injection points.
Next couple of days
- Gentle activity is fine; build back to normal exercise after ~24h.
- No facial massage, micro-needling or face steaming.
- If you bruise: cold compress 5–10 mins at a time can help; conceal with make-up as desired.
Days 3–14
Results settle gradually; asymmetries from temporary swelling usually even out. We normally avoid additional procedures on the same areas for ~2 weeks unless your clinician advises otherwise.

Maintaining your results
Skin health basics
Daily SPF 30–50, gentle cleansing and well-matched moisturiser help overall skin quality and glow.
Plan your reviews
Most clients are reviewed around 2–4 weeks to check settling and answer questions. Future timing is individual.
Combine thoughtfully
Texture/tone often benefit from gentle peels or skin boosters — spaced sensibly by your clinician.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sleep on my face tonight?
Try to stay upright for the first ~4 hours. After that, normal sleep positions are fine.
When can I have a facial or massage?
Avoid facial massage, steam and strong exfoliation for about a week. Gentle skincare is fine.
Is flying okay after treatment?
Yes — flying is generally fine. Still follow the usual aftercare (no heavy lifting/sauna on day one).
When will I see results?
Subtle changes can begin within several days and typically settle by ~2 weeks.
What if one area looks different to the other?
Minor asymmetries are common while settling. A review at ~2–4 weeks allows your clinician to assess.
