FAQs

Why include red light therapy?

Red light helps calm inflammation, supports recovery and enhances the visible impact of growth factors like EGF — meaning you’ll often see more glow and less redness immediately after.

Is it suitable for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin?

Yes, it’s designed to be calming. We tailor exfoliation and LED exposure; if you’re very reactive, we’ll keep it ultra-gentle.

How often should I book?

Monthly for ongoing glow, or as a 3–6 session plan if your goal is visible smoothing and evenness.

Any contraindications?

Active infection, open wounds, recent ablative procedures, photosensitising medications, or diagnosed light sensitivities. Please tell us about pregnancy/breastfeeding so we can tailor actives.

Relax and combat ageing with our premium facial, exclusive to Santi.

This indulgent treatment harnesses stem cell growth factors derived from barley to restore and regenerate skin tissue. A double cleanse, light therapy and gentle organic skin polishing is followed by an EGF serum mask and pulsating oxygen – leaving you with a glowing, healthier looking complexion.

What is Epidermal Growth Factors?

EGF, or Epidermal Growth Factor, is the new frontier in anti-ageing treatment. Developed in the search for effective wound healing agents, EGF is a polypeptide which promotes skin growth and collagen production. At Santi we have embraced this shift in the science of anti-ageing by developing an EGF treatment which will simultaneously hydrate your skin while minimising wrinkles and pores. Our EGF infused serum engages with your skin’s epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFRs) to encourage the regeneration of skin cells, effectively creating newer and younger-looking skin.

How does it work?

Growth factors are essentially large proteins that move between cells, carrying messages which trigger healing and growth. They are prolific throughout the body and generated by all cell types, including skin cells. Growth factors are produced both in the outer layer of the skin, the epidermis, and the lower layers – where collagen and elastin is produced. These growth factors (or signalling proteins) bind themselves to cell surfaces, locking into receptors which trigger cell repair, replication and rejuvenation. Cell activation is near constant in youth but begins to slow in our late twenties – less growth factor is produced, therefore fewer new skin cells.

Collagen and elastin production also slows with the decline in growth factors. The skin loses its ability to ‘bounce back,’ resulting in skin sagging, wrinkles and fine lines. Compounding this natural ageing process, environmental factors like UV, heavy metals and other pollutants begin to take their toll. Long-term and accumulated exposure to these external elements further depletes growth factor production – exacerbating visible skin ageing.

The theory behind EGF treatment is that regular application (over just several weeks) can replace the missing or diminished growth factors and restore the former ‘signal-rate’ that maintains young and healthy skin tissue. EGF’s ability to stimulate skin cell turnover and ‘switch on’ collagen production makes it an obvious anti-ageing choice – but further treatments are being developed. Its skin cell producing capability means EGF can also reduce scarring, significant discolouration and dark under-eye bags – and even potentially treat inflammatory skin disorders.

Pre & Post Facial Care

As with any anti-ageing treatment, consistency is key. This is particularly true when it comes to growth factors – in their attempt to replicate a natural bodily process. Our EGF Serum Facial is an indulgent and enjoyable way to introduce EGF treatment – but continued exposure is required for maximal effect. Book a course of monthly treatments – or – follow up your EGF facial with at-home EGF-based skincare. Talk to your therapist about a suitable day/night serum or cream and experience the incremental but long-lasting benefits of epidermal growth factors.
