Frequently asked questions
Do I need a scan before physio?
Usually not. Most neck pain and cervicogenic headaches improve with assessment, hands-on care and targeted exercises. We’ll advise if imaging is appropriate.
How many sessions will I need?
Varies by cause and goals. Many improve over 2–6 sessions alongside a home plan, with spaced reviews as needed.
Can screen work cause headaches?
Prolonged static postures can aggravate neck muscles/joints and refer pain to the head. Ergonomics and movement breaks help a lot.
What pillow should I use?
Comfort first. A medium-height pillow that keeps your neck in line (side or back sleeping) is a good start. We’ll tailor advice after assessment.
Is manual therapy enough?
It can settle pain quickly, but lasting change comes from combining it with mobility and strength work.
