Santi Skin Lab — objective analysis for clearer decisions
A calm, clinician-led assessment combining imaging, measurements and history to understand what your skin needs — and what actually works over time.
Objective diagnostics
What we do in Skin Lab
High-fidelity imaging
Standardised lighting and positioning to capture comparable images over time for pigmentation, redness and texture.
Objective metrics
Hydration, oil balance, TEWL (where indicated), texture indices and UV photography for sun-exposure patterns.
Context matters
We factor in products, lifestyle, sleep, stress and environment — the real-world variables that shape your skin.
Actionable plan
Clear routines and product shortlists, with dosage ranges and sequencing that fit your life and budget.
How a session runs
Clinical intake
Medical history, concerns and goals. We align on outcomes and the time you can commit.
Imaging & measurements
We capture standardised photos and take key metrics (e.g., hydration, sebum) for a baseline.
Plan & next steps
You’ll get a practical plan on the day and a written summary. Follow-ups track progress objectively.
Devices & metrics we may use
Hydration & barrier
Corneometer-style hydration readings and (where indicated) TEWL for barrier integrity. Learn more: TEWL · Hydration
Sebum & shine
Sebumeter-style measurements and visual mapping for oil distribution. See Sebum.
UV & pigmentation
UV photography to visualise sun damage and pigmentation clusters. Related care: IPL for pigmentation.
Redness & sensitivity
Evenness and erythema evaluation under controlled lighting to monitor flare patterns.
Texture & pores
Image-derived indices for texture roughness and pore appearance over time. See: Skin polishing facial.
Lifestyle context
Simple trackers for product usage, sleep, stress and environment to spot meaningful patterns.
Who it’s for (and when we’ll redirect)
Great fit
- Persistent concerns (pigmentation, redness, breakouts, dryness) where you want measurable change.
- Pre/post-treatment tracking (peels, lasers, injectables) to see what’s working.
- Routine clarity — too many products, not enough results.
We’ll redirect
- Active infection or undiagnosed lesions requiring dermatology referral.
- Severe acute reactions — we’ll triage and recommend medical care first.
What you’ll leave with
Baseline & comparisons
Standardised photos with like-for-like comparisons at follow-ups.
Metrics summary
A simple snapshot (hydration/oil/UV markers) with practical targets.
Personalised routine
Morning/evening steps, actives and tolerability guidance that fit your skin and lifestyle.
Next steps
Timing for product changes, in-clinic options where useful, and when to re-measure.
Do I need to stop using my products beforehand?
We’ll advise during booking. For accurate baseline readings, we may ask you to pause exfoliants/retinoids for a few days.
Is Skin Lab suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes — measurements and imaging are non-invasive. If there’s active irritation, we may delay certain tests.
How often should I follow up?
Most clients recheck at 6–12 weeks to see if changes are working, then less frequently once stable.
Will I get a written plan?
Yes — you’ll receive a summary of findings, photos, and a tailored routine with clear steps.
