What is a TCA peel?

TCA (trichloroacetic acid) creates a controlled epidermal/dermal injury. Your skin sheds damaged layers and stimulates new collagen — revealing a clearer, smoother surface.

Who is it for?

  • Photodamage and uneven tone
  • Atrophic acne scarring and rough texture
  • Fine lines/crepey skin (peri-oral/lower face)
  • Resistant pigmentation when lighter peels aren’t enough

How we customise

We tailor percentage and number of passes, feather around delicate areas, and use pretreatment skincare to improve outcomes and recovery.

Considering alternatives? See the Skin Peels hub, Microdermabrasion, or CO₂ laser for deeper texture change.

Before your peel

  • Pause retinoids/strong acids for 5–7 days unless directed.
  • Daily SPF 30–50; avoid tanning/sunbeds before treatment.
  • Tell us about cold sores, recent procedures or medications.

Aftercare

  • No picking/exfoliating during the shed phase.
  • Gentle cleanser + emollient; SPF 50 every morning.
  • Avoid heat/saunas/strenuous exercise for 48–72 hours.

Typical peel window: Day 2–4 tightness & peel · Day 5–7 shed · Week 2+ refinement.

How many TCA peels will I need?

Often 1–3 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart, depending on concern and response.

Is TCA suitable for my skin?

We tailor strength, passes and prep to your skin type, tone and history to minimise risk and maximise results.

What’s the downtime?

Redness/tightness initially; visible peeling Days 2–4, settling by Days 5–7. SPF + barrier support are essential.

Can I combine with other treatments?

Yes — we may pair with superficial peels/microderm for polish or plan laser for deeper texture changes at the right interval.
